Detailing Specialist Tip #4:

What to Look for in a Car Soap

Dear Car Enthusiasts,

We hope this newsletter finds you well!

Keeping your car clean is not just about making it look good, but also about protecting and preserving its paint. One key product that can make a big difference is car soap. Let’s talk about why using a good car soap is so important and what to look for when choosing one.

Why Quality Car Soap Matters

Using a high-quality car soap helps in several ways:

1. Neutral pH

A car soap with a neutral pH is important because it won’t damage your car’s protective coating. Soaps that are too acidic or too alkaline can strip away the protective wax or sealant. A neutral pH soap cleans effectively without harming the protective layers, keeping your car’s finish looking great.

2. Highly Concentrated

Highly concentrated car soaps are more effective and economical. You only need a small amount to get a lot of cleaning power. Concentrated formulas are designed to break down dirt and grime better, giving your car a thorough clean without using too much soap.

WATCH OUT FOR THIS:

Some soaps from places like Walmart or Auto Zone come in a bigger container for an extremely low cost, sounds great right? WRONG.

If you read the fine print, many low cost brands say to mix 1-3 ounces of soap PER GALLON of water. This can mean between 5 and 15 oz of soap for one 5 gallon bucket wash. (or 4-12 if you use 4 gallons of water in your bucket)

(Keep in mind a normal bottle of our product is 16 oz). With our 1 oz soap to 5 gallons of water, this means you can get up to 16 washes per bottle. At $11.99 for 16 oz of soap, we are only $.74 a wash.

We encourage you to do the math with how much soap it would be per wash (not per ounce) with the product you are using.

Benefits of Using High-Quality Car Soap

  • Better Protection: Maintains the wax and sealant, prolonging the life of your car's paint and finish.
  • Efficient Cleaning: Less product needed, saving you money and providing a deep clean.
  • Gentle on Paint: Prevents damage, reducing the risk of scratches and dullness.
  • Eco-Friendly: Many quality car soaps are biodegradable and better for the environment.
